Old Town Scottsdale

Old Town Scottsdale is located in the heart of Scottsdale. It is a lovely place that takes visitors back in time. It blends modern elements with a lovely parade of old-time art galleries, shops, and food while celebrating modern history at the same time! You can grab some ice cream at the Sugar Bowl or take a ride on the trolley.

Butterfly Wonderland

This is the largest butterfly pavilion in the United States of America. Butterfly Wonderland has a huge rain forest atrium that has thousands of butterflies. There is a honey beehive, an ant colony and also a 3D theater!

Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art

This is a museum for all kinds of art. It has a sculpture garden dedicated to fine art along with five galleries. All of these places place emphasis on modern art. Other parts of the museum are dedicated to honoring other forms of art. Sometime, events focused on music and literature take place in the museum. In general, the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art provides a space that encourages creativity in people.


Rawhide is about 30 minutes’ drive from North Scottsdale. It is one of the biggest attractions in the area. The town was built to imitate a similar western town that existed years ago, in the same place. Rawhide delivers in every possible way and has some of the best food in town. From an ice cream parlor to a steakhouse to a saloon, there is a chance to experience so much! You get to shop, play games and watch live stunt shows.

McDowell Sonoran Preserve

McDowell Sonoran Preserve is a nature park that serves to please all lovers of nature. Hiking in this park is very enjoyable as there are six beautiful trails to select from. Mountain biking is popular in this preserve as the terrain is perfect for it. There are also guided tours that provide support for those undergoing any activity in the park.

McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park

This park can be used for all activities, but it has a unique train theme. It has a train museum, and there are lots of old trains distributed around the area. The park has a restaurant, a train ride, and a general store. McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park is the perfect place for strolling around and for family picnics. It is also very close to the city center.

Marshall Way Arts District

This is the area where Scottsdale is separated from its western roots, and it focuses on contemporary art. All forms of art from both local and nationally known artists can be found on display here. Every Thursday of the week is the biggest night of the district, as an art walk holds from 7 pm to 9 pm. That art walk brings the streets to life with music, food, and art.

MacDonald’s Ranch

This is basically a horseback riding stable. There are lessons available for riders of various classes, and there is also the option to rent. The ranch has stagecoach rides, hayrides, a pumpkin patch and a museum. There’s live music most of the time and a space for cookouts.
